Accessories overload

So, over accessorising has been a trend for the longest time and doesn’t seem to be fading away anytime soon?

I love my jewels but I feel like it’s getting overboard and losing taste – knuckle rings are cool but I always lose them! Maybe  just careless I don’t know.. But ya I’m still hesitant as to purchase more knuckle rings, ear cuffs, full finger diamond or crystal encrusted sets, Arabic calligraphy jewels and accessories etc.

it’s cool yes but how to choose? So many great international and local designers it makes it so hard to pick something you end up throwing the pile you collected and just walk away. Love to stick to my essential everyday small pieces but here are my top 10 picks in no particular order:

Hey where did Mickey go?

I remember the days when the Mickey Mouse Club was the coolest thing on the block and how Disney promoted wearing jumpers with Disney’s main characters was the coolest thing ever (only within Disney land premises though) and how excited I was to see mama and papa wearing Mickey and Goofy hats and t-shirts.

Fast forward to nearly 25 years and here I am still indulging into this lifestyle that has now hit the fashion world by charm. Yes I didn’t stop wearing Mickey Mouse, Wonder Woman, etc. in the last few years but this year sets its self aside and stand in glory amongst many supporting designers, appraising fans and followings. It’s the year of pop art meets kids fiction. Disney’s idols, the empire of fast food, and even the Arab world idolized the many icons of Arabian desert cultures like the “Oud” bottle and of course not to mention brands exercising on their own heritage and lifestyle like Chanel’s no.5 chanel perfume bottle bag and now D&G announced partnered with Magnum our ice creams are now designer how fancy for our tongues!

I was always told in school that Geography was the only subject that mattered the most because it was a well rounded encompassing subjects that covered everything from science to habitat and human psychology and literature. It’s absolutely astounding to watch how the fashion world and scene as evolved into a subject matter that can be compared to Geography in it’s many benefits and should actually be considered as a subject matter to be taught in schools.

Fashion is fashion and its no longer a luxury that one lives by especially with high street fashion brands such as H&M, Top Shop, and Primark in the UK offering these trends at affordable prices. Its almost fashion like fashion is attempting to synchronize and harmonise everyone’s look at a given period of time.

Now pass me my Mcd fries 😉
